Antique set of 8 baby chick molds used for chocolate or candy or whatever you want to use it for. The set is hinged, and it locks shut. It\'s quite heavy: just over 6.5 pounds.
The main part of the molds appears to be made of cast iron. The baby chicks themselves appear to be made of tin or perhaps aluminum. I am not an expert in identifying metal.
I regret using a yellow baby blanket as the background. It makes the metal look darker. In reality, the cast iron metal is dark, but silvery. The baby chicks are actually light silver.
Other sales have identified these old molds as being from the 1930s.
The hinged exterior is marked \"P14040\" on one side, and \"29\" on the other side. The \"29\" looks to be an older typeface.
