- This sale is for a \"VERY RARE ANIMATED, LIGHTED, \"MUSICAL\" COAL MINERS CLOCK.\" It is like MASTERCRAFTERS, Haddon and United clocks with animation. I added Mastercrafters to the title for those who didn\'t see other animated motion clocks made by others. No best offers please this sale is for a buy it now or offer sale. Estate item. I found no makers name except it does have a Sessions type motor movement. Perhaps it\'s made by Sessions? It appears like it dates around 1950? The clock measures approx. 14\" high x 10\" wide and 4 & 1/2\" deep and made of wood with glass in the front over the animation scenes. The clock case is wood and a stunning color of red mahogany. I\'ve never seen a coal miners clock like this one. As you can view in the photos with the lights on it has a stunning 3d effect. Their is a neon light in the coal miners hat as well as the lantern and a back drop light. The animated motion part of the bottom of the clock is the coal miner who has a pick in his hand the arm and pick goes up and down as if he is picking coal the entire time the clock is running . It also play music WORKING ON THE RAILROAD and the music box plays great and has a great tone with no damage to the teeth. There is a three way switch installed which operates the lights and the music box. With the turn of the light switch the music and lights are on, with another turn of the switch the lights are off and the music plays, turn the switch again the lights are off, turn the switch again just the lights are on. \" The coal miner is made of coal as well as all the coal pieces inside the clock. The clock hands are a pick and shovel and there made of metal & wood. The background picture in the clock is the inside of the coal mine with railroad tracks and and two railroad cars.There is a wooden label on the back of the clock it reads working on the railroad. TO SUM UP THE CLOCK THE ANIMATION OF THE COAL MINER WORKS, THE LIGHTS WORK, THE LIGHT SWITCH WORK, THE MUSIC PLAYS GREAT ,THE MOTOR IS QUIET AND IT KEEPS ACCURATE TIME.
