The History

Thisbeautiful piece was made during the Victorian Period! The Victorian Period isfamous for its very rare & elegant hard to find designs! Queen Victoria wasthe ruling monarch for this time period (1837-1901) hence the name (Victorian).

Filigreemetal working has been around for thousands of years, however was perfected bythe Phoenicians and Etruscan civilizations. It involves stamping out a designin your metal and hand bending and twirling until your design in formed, it isconsidered one of the most difficult metal working processes.

Carnelianis a beautiful opaque looking stone that has been in use in jewelry for near5000 years. Called the stone of the Kings, Carnelian would often be used inseal rings by Romans, Greeks, Egyptians and many more great societies.

Duringthe Georgian Period, the Austro-Hungarian Empire established itself as a placeto buy jewelry of the highest craftsmanship. In the 1800s, jewelers of theregion, which became a center for glass artisans, started to combine theirelaborate filigreed metalwork in silver and gold with shimmering experimentalpastes (glass stones), semi-precious stones, seed pearls, and brightly coloredenamels in ostentatiously regal pieces. These Renaissance Revival pieces, likeintricate pendants depicting the legend of St. George and The Dragon or ornatepaste chandelier earrings, are highly sought-after today.

800Silver is a purity of silver only used in European countries pre 1940. This wasdue to the silver coins of the era being made of that same period. Jewelers andsilversmith\'s found it easier to take these coins that were already guaranteedat that purity and melting them down, instead of guessing and hopefully gettingthe purity correct, this is also called (Coin Silver).

The bracelet is hallmarked with the dogs head hallmark of the Austro-Hungarian empire that was used from 1867-1922.


The Piece

The bracelet includes four gorgeous hand cabochon cut and polished natural Carnelian Stones. The stone shave a beautiful semi translucentred/orange hue to them.

The bracelet features classic handmade Victorian designs including beautiful beyond intricate hand crimped filigree patterns in each extra wide link. The links are Contoured to fit the wrist perfectly. Please use the zoom button!

The intricacy of the bracelet is just simply amazing and would have taken a lot of time to craft completely by hand.

The bracelet measures 7 and 3/4\" by almost 1 and 1/4\" wide. The bracelet includes a secure push clasp as well.
