Near the top it is marked shut. On the top it is marked Art 740.
On the back it states \"Place the stroke parallel with the number required\" Made in Germany.There are numbers around the top 5 thru 9. The very top piece turns, it has a small hole in it, you turn the hole to the desired size of needle, or to shut, to keep the needles in. It stands approx. 2 1/4 inches tall.
