This Antique Queen Anne Mahogany writing desk is in beautiful condition!! Measuring 40\" wide x 19 1/2\" deep x 32 1/4\" tall the top folds up to reveal a writing surface that pulls out. Also revealed are cubby holes for storage, 2 sliding top compartments & a small drawer. There is a bigger drawer in the front. There are 3 very solid, unusual blade type hinges that are attached to the top, one is shown in the closeup in the next to last pic.
There has been a recent reinforcement of the left side with \"L\" brackets underneath, all in all a very solid piece of well made furniture.
The previous owner that I got this from said that it dates to the early 1900\'s & it belonged to her grandfather. She didn\'t know what kind of wood is, but several local woodworkers have told me that it is Mahogany.
I don\'t see any major dings, cracks, or scratches, just beautiful condition!!
I don\'t see any manufacturer\'s mark.I don\'t want to have to ship this beautiful antique writing desk, but I will personally deliver it within 100 mi. of Hannibal, MO for $.50 a mile 1 way, $20 minimum. Local pick up is welcome or if you care to make arrangements with a shipper I will work with you on that.
