Simon & Halbig was founded in 1839, they began making dolls from 1869 in their two porcelain factories in Gräfenhain and Hidburghausen, near Thuringia, Germany. In 1920 S & H was bought by Kämmer & Reinhardt, who continued to produce dolls until 1932. Sometime after the factory became known as Keramisches Werk Gräfenhain.
Simon & Halbig is known for their fine bisque doll heads and innovation in the doll industry, they also supplied doll heads to many other well-known doll manufacturers.

This child size 30” tall German girl has beautiful creamy bisque, with a lovely strong blush, pierced ears. Well working original brown sleep eyes with human hair lashes framed with hand painted lashes. Her head is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or breaks, few small rubs. She is on her original harder to find, very sturdy compo body with original finish, with early straight leg construction and the rod mechanism that makes her head go side to side when you walk her legs, her body is in good condition with some crackles and one finger repaired . Her beautiful original human hair wig is extra-long length and beautifully adorns her face. She will come dressed in her antique dress undies and antique leather shoes & socks as pictured.
