An antiquebrass Leitz continental model microscopefrom the end of the 19h century in excellent working condition. Itis signed on the base as “E. Leitz Wetzler, New York 411 W 59 Street No. 30417”.It comes with its original case and three original Leitz lenses with brasscanisters. All are signed with theLeitz name. The lenses are a 3, 6, and 1/12 oil immersion. The eyepiece is a 10x LeitzPeriplan. The instrurment comes with a rare Leitz accessory mechanical stage. Themicroscope stands 12 ½” in its working position. The case is 13” tall x 7” x 7”.
The brass onthe microscope retains most of its original lacquer noting a rubbed offarea on the tube and typical streaking and spots. The mirror is a plano/concavein excellent condition. The mahogany cabinet with brass handle is in finecondition. The images show the cosmetic condition of the instrument.
