We are pleased to present an antique flatware box, no maker marks, but the brass lock hardware (no key) is marked Y&T with 1876 and 1877 patent dates. Nice Arts & Crafts style, although this pre-dates the A&C movement. It is quarter sawn oak with a wooden pre-formed and suede-lined interior, likely created to hold a specific set of sterling flatware. The exterior is in good condition, showing some assorted light wear – there is some light scratching and varnish wear to the top. The brass fittings could use a polish. The interior is clean, if not a little linty, and shows some wear to the suede lining – some rubs from normal wear, and some slight damage from the forks to the top lining and also where they sit in the base. The measurements of the box are 15.25\" wide x 14.625\" deep x 4\" tall. Please see pics.
