It was filled with loads of hardware mostly for autos like lug nuts so we assume that, at least, the most recent owner had been a mechanic. Considering that this was likely stored in a garage of sorts it is in amazingly good condition considering the harsh Environment one would imagine in a garage.It is large with 54 cubby holes plus top shelf with wood backsplashIt might be old barn wood and you can tell it is hand made. The lack of uniformity in the cubbies and occasional unstraight lines make it even more charming.The color is brown greyish kind of like old barn wood driftwood color. It is untreated, unpainted , unpolished and in what appears to be its natural state. The back appears to be painted brown or maybe it was just protected from the elements....Age is unknown but we assume it is at least from the 1950s but probably a lot older.Perfect for hardware, curios, assortment of oddities, keys, shells, ornaments,...whatever suits your fancy!Would look great in a gift shop for ribbons and bows and related supplies, nursery for your seed assortment, art studio for brushes, even an inn or B&B for keys and mail !There are no hooks on the back for hanging. Can stand on its own but I would secure in place just in case.
