Antique or Vintage Character Porcelain Beer Stein - Rabbit Hunter
This amazing beer stein is made of hard porcelain and hand-paited. It belongs to the "character" stein family - beer steins made in form of things or persons. This is probably the most collectible category of antique beer steins.
The stein is made in the form of Rabbit dressed as a German hunter of early 1900s, with this special hanter's coat, hunter's bag "Jagdtasche", a hunter's hat and a rifle under it's arm. Fantstic and most detailed figural porcelain piece!
It is identified by some stein collectors as from 1950s. But nobody really knows what company actually made it. The pewter looks older than 1950s. The direct tang to lid connection was most common in 1930s.
In any case - this is quite rare and unusual piece with beautiful appearance. It has no damage or repairs - just some paint wear. The lid fits perfectly. It is 9.5" tall, 0.5L capacity.
