Painting is from the original 11.81 acre Blythewood Mansion Estate, LOCATED on northeast section of Lake George, NY on Skerry Point Peninsula, in the Town of Putnam, New York, which was built in the very late 1800\'s.We are not certain how far back it hung at Blythewood, but believe it was there since at least the early 1900\'s and don\'t specifically know from where it originated or when it was created, but certain it is early Americana and quite old. However, The Town of Putnam is located in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York between the historic towns of Ticonderoga with Fort Ticonderoga and ferry to Vermont and the town of Whitehall, birthplace of the US Navy. Also, the Town of Putnam is bordered by the pristine, historic Lake George on the East and the magnificent Lake Champlain on the West, where so much significant early American military action took place.The military used the south end of Lake Champlain at the LaChute River to bring their boats/ships into Lake George as it actually flowed into Lake George! There is a tremendous amount of history and action that took place in this area.We do not see signature, but believe it may be hidden by the frame and as it has been in this original antique frame for as long as we know so we are hesitantto disturb it, especially sincethe painting is in such great condition.Welcome to call 201-264-9074 to discuss.Free Packing, Shipping, & Insurance.
