Found at an estate sale: here is a large antique vanity tray made in Limoges, France by PORCELAIN LIMOUSINE, dark green PL stamp on the back side. This fabulous tray is dominated by large sprays of LILY OF THE VALLEY, expertly hand painted in delicate colors. The trim displays a thick band of gold, and the background colors move from golden tan near the periphery to creamy yellow in the center. Wow. The back side has been signed by the artist, McCarthy, France Studio. Condition is very good, no cracks, chips, or crazing -- there is a bit of typical loss to the gilded trim right at the edge, a detail photo shows the most loss. Nevertheless a special piece, unusual in its size and subject.13-1/4\" x 8-3/4\", 5/8\" high.
