Beautiful 3x4\" color certificate showing, on the front, the recovery of the Apollo 11 command module being recovered after its historic flight to the moon.
On the back is some history of the Apollo 11 flight.
On the front, below the image of the command module, is attached an authentic piece of the gold Kapton thermal protection foil that covered the Apollo 11 command module during the entire flight to the moon and back to earth. The gold foil can be seen attached to the command module in the photo of the command module on the certificate. The fragment measures about 1/8\" x 1/2\".
This piece of gold foil flew to the moon and back as part of the Apollo 11 spacecraft.
This piece comes with a photocopy of the original certificate of authenticity from a retired NASA employee who was given the larger piece of Kapton foil from with this fragment was taken, verifying that the foil fragment flew to the moon.
The Apollo 11 flight has the same historic importance as the Wright brothers flight. Fragments of the Wright brothers airplane sell for thousands of dollars.
