For sale is a very rare bible leaf with a beautifully coloured woodcut by Leonardo Parasole after Antonio Tempesta. It comes from the veryfirst edition of the Gospels in Arabic-Latin parallel translation, which is also the first print of the Typographia Medicea that was founded by Pope Gregory XIII for proselytisation of the orient. Also in 1591 the Typographia published a solely Arabic version.

Zum Verkauf steht ein seltenes Bibelblatt mit einem dekorativ kolorierten Holzschnitt von Leonardo Parasole nach Antonio Tempesta. Es stammt aus dem ersten Druck der Evangelien in arabisch-lateinischer Interlinearversion,der zugleich auch der erste Druck der Typographia Medicea war, die von Papst Gregor XIII. zur Missionierung des Orients gegründet worden war. Durch sie erschien im Jahr der Erstausgabe 1591 auch eine rein arabische Fassung. Der arabische Textwurde in der Schrift von Robert Granjon gedruckt unter der Aufsicht des Orientalisten G. B. Raimondi.Der Holzschnitt zeigt die Jesus mit seinen Jüngern.Blattgröße: ca.33.5 x21.5 cmZustand:
