The scabbard is made out of both bronze and silver,very well decorated and each side has a different design. The Hilt is made out of bone and silver inlaid and has a different design on eachside. The blade is curved and edges are not sharp.

TheKoummya is the characteristic traditional dagger of the Berber andArabic peoples of Morocco. Classified these as being one localizedvariant of the Arabic jambiya, and the contoured handles, curveddouble-edged blades and exaggeratedly upturned scabbard tips are allfeatures consistent with such . In the context of the traditionalregional manner of dress, the Koummya is worn visibly at the leftside, generally about at the level of the waist and is suspendedvertically, with the scabbard tip forward, by a long woolen baldric,attached at either end to one of the two scabbard rings, and worncrossing in front and back of the torso and over the right shoulder.
