Arboriginal bark painting AUSTRALIEN:

This is a piece of slightly curved bark height 25\" width 10 to 11\" it is painted with pigment unknown I am sure it is made by the aboriginal artist. It painting is old. A gift from an old friend a Tasman. On the back it has an old blue sticker that says Queensland Aboriginal creation in the inner circle it says It says Queensland department of Aboriginal and Island Affairs. In the very middle it says certifies this is a quality product made by Aborigines of Queensland Australia. Upper left hand corner is marked w. No 12. seems to be in the same pigment as the picture. The picture itself seems to be a tree or plant with growth of fruits it looks like an exotic tree. . There are two people perhaps women holding the plant by the large bulb root. Geometric patterns at the top and base. I know this painting emerge from the worlds most ancient and still functioning culture. This is no outsider art, we are the outsiders here. I have had this for many years I like the human figures under the huge growth. This painting is from long before Aboriginal artists were recognized as cutting edge contemporary artists. I can\'t decode the cultural message here but I like to think it will end up with someone who loves it or has an understanding Aboriginal art.and will preserve it. (I now know more The National Museum of Australia\'s bark collection have the sister ot brother picture. It says unknown artist 1948 ( about right time) you can find it by entering the words star and 1948 in the bark collection.) Kind of exiting I found it by accident my eyes popped.
