Ancient archaic Chinese oxen statue made of bronze.

The enormous oxen was a ceremonial vessel for offerings to the heaven.

The oxen has three humps with lids. Each lid has a mythical animal on top of it. One is a bird and another one looks like a cat.

There is a ring in the oxen\'s nose. Four very heavy hoofs.

The body of the oxen has archaic motif all over it. The motif are on the lids also.

The oxen was supposed to be from Zhou Dynasty (1100-221 BC). I have no way of knowing if it is the case. It is very difficult to date bronze but looking at the sculpture it looks old. Anyway it is a very nice conversational piece.

One of its ears is missing.

Measurement: Approximately 41 cm x 54.5 cm x 20.5 cm

Weight: 6.2 kilogram

The battery is there for size comparison only. It has nothing to do with the item.
