UP FOR sale: An extremely rare, unique, original painting by Puerto Rican artist Arnaldo Roche-Rabell (b. 1955). This 43-year-old painting is an acrylic paint on canvas panel, measuring 24 inches by 30 inches. It is signed and dated, by the artist, on the bottom right-hand corner of the painting. The reverse side of the canvas panel also has the artist\'s name, title, and date (11 de junio 1972), along with a marking that states: \"16 Años\" (the artist\'s age at the time). It is still in the original open-back frame (1.25 inch profile) that was used by the artist during that period; hence, there is some slightly observable, but very minimal, bowing to the canvas panel (please see all attached photo images for details and condition). Being an original acrylic on canvas board painting in its original open-back frame, this slight bowing can be easily addressed and relieved by re-framing. The integrity of the original condition has been preserved. This work has been stored in a light-free, temperature-controlled Environment. This painting was executed while Arnaldo Roche-Rabell was still a student at the Escuela Luchetti (Santurce, Puerto Rico). The style is cubist, and portrays a figure with its hands covering its face. It is titled \"La caída de un ídolo\" (The Fall of an Idol), and relates to a particularly painful event during this time in the artist\'s life (1972, 16 years of age); when his older brother shot, and killed, one of their sisters. This painting was appraised roughly 10 years ago for $18,500.00 by the owner of the gallery who currently represents his work in Puerto Rico and abroad. Due to the artist\'s steadily increasing value internationally, this painting is very likely to be worth much more at present.
