Has strong slide clasp with safety clip, both opens and securely locks in shut,just fine .Considered rarerare, based on provided marks (PRE-dating 1947 compulsoryeagle marks . It\'s very super heavy . Weighsapprox 100.1grams (as in 100.9 grams).It came from our family heirloom\'s earlier 1900\'s jewelry collection. It was well kept and in excellentcondition .
