An original Art Deco hand painted porcelain \"Vigo\" bottle / decanter / carafe, made by the Portuguese firm Vista Alegre, circa 1932, complete with original cork and hat stopper.
In the form of a woman holding a bunch of grapes, with stylised Art Deco brilliant yellow dress, and a magnificent Art Deco hand painted apron.
The words \'Bandeira, and \'Vinho do Porto\' are stencilled around the base of the bottle, advertising the Port that it would have originally contained.
Similar to French Art Deco bottles produced by the Paris firm Robj.
Marked on the base with the green Vista Alegre ( Portugal) mark dating it to between 1922-47, along with underglaze marks as shown.
Offered in perfect condition, with no chips, breaks, cracks or repairs.
The cork is broken, with the major portion lodged in the bottle top, and the remainder in the hat, but no damages to the porcelain.
A gorgeous and rare example of original Art Deco porcelain from this eminent Portuguese factory. Will be carefully and lovingly packed!
