Arthur Szyk (1894 – 1951) was a Polish-Jewish artist who worked primarily as book illustratorand political cartoonist throughout his decades-long career. Living in France andPoland, he moved to the UK in 1940 and then he settled permanently in the United States in 1948. He is known generally for his artistic designed but also for his anti-Nazi propaganda during WWII.

He illustrated Jewish works and this is one fabulous example of his Passover Haggadahs. With fabulous colored illustrations and prose, the book is crowned with a gorgeous silver metal hinged cover highlighted with blue stones.

The Haggadah is in very good condition with not tears or stains to the pages. Some of the pages have roughly cut edges. The front hinge endpaper (on the Hebrew side) is torn at the creased hinge where the webbing can be seen through. The back hinge (on the English side) is intact. The pages are all present and bound. Overall, this book measures 9 inches by 7 inches.
