Artist Samuel Wilson Signed Royal Doulton \"Rails\" Plate

8 3/4\" dia, c. 1902-1909.

Round smooth edge with wide embossed gold band & thin gold line border. Beautifully painted artist signed S. Wilson. Rails center in color enamels.

Wilson was an English ceramic artist working for Royal Doulton in Burslem from 1880-1909. He is noted for his landscapes, wildlife, hunting, fish & game bird studies & scenes. His work was exhibited at the World\'s Columbian Exposition in 1893 in Chicago.

Standard printed lion & crown Royal Doulton England mark in magenta & Davis Collamore & Co. Ltd, NY importer\'s mark. Hand titled \"Rails\". Footrim is gilded. Excellent condition. No chips, cracks, hairlines, nor restorations.
