Up for sale is a 8” tall shell casing of seamless cast and machined brass with a flared lip measuring 4” wide. Craftsman’s marking on the bottom reads “ M” with an “I” in its center. Perhaps MVI? The shell appears typical of the World war 1 period or earlier. I assume this to be made during the period. I discovered it in the Catskills, an area rich in the history of the Arts and Crafts movement. Very slight wrinkle at flared edge as depicted. Selling as found.
