ARTS & CRAFTS ANTIQUE SILVER TRAVELLING CHURCH COMMUNION SET CHALICE PATEN JUG :

This is for a beautiful and totally pristine antique sterling silver travelling Communion set in its original fitted case. It has a nice arts & crafts design and dates to 1896. The chalice has detailing around the stem, the wine ewer has a decorative handle and the paten has a delicateflower pattern embossed into the middle. Each piece has a sunburst monogram engraved into it and the paten is engraved \'Presented to the Rev M. Brack by the teachers of St Michael & all angels Sunday School, Ashton on Ribble upon his leaving the Parish, Oct 30 1898\'. All three pieces are fully hallmarked dating them to Sheffield 1896 along with the makers initials JR for John Round & Son Ltd (Joseph Ridge). They are all inexcellentcondition with no damage and they fit into the specially made travelling case that is lined in velvet. The chalice measures30mm (1.25\") in diameter at the base by 73mm nearly 3\" tall, the paten is 88mm (3.5\") in diameter and the jug is 85mm (3.3\") tall by28mm (1\") in diameter atthe base.The box shows a littlesurface wear to the edges....that\'s all.
