Largescarce early 20th century folding world polar projection map. Color lithographed on a thin bond-type paper.

Very scarce map, with four detailed nautical route insets in the corners, sides containing reference notes with track keys by companies, several Japanese, some lines shown as still under construction, etc.--
Top left inset is European North Sea U.K., lower left shows Hwang Hai (Yellow-Sea so named) with Mongolia &Shan-Tung peninsula & Korea coast (including Seoul/ Keijo), top right inset Western United StatesSeattle Vancouver region, bottom right is Japan Sea coast of Chosen/ Korea - Tsushima Strait to Shanghai.

As originally issued long ago on thin paper, an actual antique/ vintage printed sheet of paper, not a modern copy or reprint. The paper sheet could show various minor signs of age, there could be a small minor archival tape repair on the back, etc. but if we are offering it for sale, you can be 100% certain it is entirely worthy of ownership by even the most discerning collector or dealer.

Sheet remains well preserved, keeping in mind it is not modern or new, so minor flaws to paperunworthy of specific mention are sometimes to be expected. Some light age wear or surface spotting/ soiling, all of which is hopefully visible within the pictures.

Paper and image remains overall clean & sound. Old maps & prints often display small minor repairs on the back, could have uneven blank margins, might have extraneous fold-lines or other small minor age flaws which do not detract from the visual appeal or value. Condition is carefully considered in arriving at our price.
