Harris, first edition published 1892 by American Citizen Company, Boston, MA. \"Trial of the Conspirators by a Military Commission and a review of the trial of John H. Surratt\". Thomas Maley Harris, a Brigadier General in the Union Army, served on the Military Commission that tried the Lincoln assassination conspirators. The book gives an interesting insider\'s view of the events of the trial of the (19th) century, as well as being rife with Harris\'s opinions - including that the conspiracy reached the heights of the Confederate government.
Book is in good condition for age and type, with some issues - Boards exhibit some soil and rubbing, including wear to the gilding within the stamped graphic front board and spine text. Also some hinge cracking inside the front board - board still fully attached - still sturdy, though, with solid binding. Front endpapers are missing up to, but not including the title page - book appears complete with all content, although note that there is no indexing of the several illustrations plates to audit them for completeness. Pages show some mild age toning, but generally complete throughout.
