Authentic Ancient Egyptian Tel El-amarna Earrings Pharoah Akhenaten For Sale
Authentic Ancient Egyptian Tel el-Amarna Earrings Pharoah Akhenaten
Extremely RARE Amarna earrings with beads and bead amulets of bunches of grapes, from Tel el-Amarna, during the reign of famous Pharaoh Akhenaten! The grapes and very thin tube beads are made of faience (ancient Egyptian ceramic) and are in excellent condition, with the suspension beads glued back on in some areas. The colors of faience during this period were different than traditional, and often mixed together in unusual ways. This was a time of great change under the rule of Akhenaten with different worship of gods (mainly the sun god), uprooting from Thebes to el-Amarna, elaborate new temples built, and a time of new artistry . His original name was Amenhotep IV, and he was also married to the famous and beautiful Queen Nefertiti. He was ninth king of the 18th Dynasty. The earrings are suspended from 18k gold earwires. Any items from Amarna period are highly sought after and of great value to collectors.Beads found in el-Amarna, from XVIII Dynasty, circa 1353-1335 B.C. Saba-Mitry Collection
