Signed Peint Main 3PThis is an authentic hand painted Limoges trinket box. Beautifully painted leopard box marked Limoges France Peint Main on the bottom and is signed by the artist. It includes two porcelain leopard shoes. On the top of the box it says guepard shoes or in English \"leopard shoes\". It also features a neat shoe horn clasp that shuts securely. Measures just about 1.5 inches long and about 1 inch tall. This beautiful box is in excellent vintage condition, and is ready for display or use.
--About Limoges If you are new to the Limoges trinket box scene, there is actually a lot to know. These premium hinged trinket boxes are collected by folks all over the world and are definitely not your average trinket box. What makes them premium you ask? Well for starters each one is painted entirely by hand so it takes hours just to create a single box. This means that no box is absolutely identical. Also, the darn things are just hard to find. Because they are hand painted, they are not mass produced making them highly desirable... Especially the good ones...Now I say \"good ones\" but the truth is, with Limoges boxes it is really just about finding ones you like. There\'s a pretty good variety of boxes out there for different occasions and interests but there are a few things you can look for. 1. Authentic Limoges boxes will always be marked \"Limoges France\" and \"Peint Main\" (hand painted) or \"Decor Ceram\". They will also often be hand signed by the artist.
2. The quality of painting the box has. With each one being hand painted, you better believe some look better than others.
3. The clasp. Some boxes have a more basic clasp while others have designed clasps. Typically the more intricate clasps mean more value but again it\'s just what you want.
4. Additional pieces. This is my favorite part of Limoges boxes, they often contain other porcelain pieces. This almost always means more value because the extra pieces are awesome... And they can get lost!
5. Limited edition or retired boxes. If you are lucky enough to find a numbered box, you\'ve found a real treat. These boxes are much more desirable due to the fact that there were only a certain amount of them made.
