Here we have a Large vintage Coach Essex Briefcase, it is style #5274, Made in USA. This nice briefcase has soft brown glove-tanned cowhide that\'s been lovingly broken in. It has brass turn-locks on front flap, a carry handle and an adjustable shoulder or crossbody strap. It has the original Coach hang tag. There\'s lots of storage space. There are two large interior divided compartments with a zip pocket inside as well. The inner front slip pocket has pockets for cards and pens. There\'s a large exterior slip pocket that goes across the back. This is really a great work/school/commuting bag with plenty of room for books, laptop, and everything you\'ll need.This is an older Coach Leatherware Made in USA briefcase/ commuter bag that dates from the late 1980s to early 1990s. Based on the creed registration numbering format, this bag is among some of Coach\'s earliest briefcase/ commuter bags issued for men. The Essex originally retailed new for over $450.00. MEASUREMENTS: Length: 16\", Height: 11.5\", Depth: 4.5\", Strap Drop: 18-20\" adjustable, Handle drop: 3\" It is in good condition for its age (approx. 30 years old). The leather is well broken in, soft and pliable. There are signs of wear on the edges which gives it that nice vintage look. One corner of the back outer pocket has come unsewn but can very easily be fixed, but doesn\'t really need to be. The brass turn-locks look good and work well. This bag is clean inside and out. It doesn\'t have ink marks or odors. Over the years the bag was conditioned with leather conditioner many times so the leather is not cracked a tall as often happens with these bags. There\'s lots of use left on this classic and durable Coach bag.
