Authentic Korean Finely Embroidered\'Peony\'Red Silk Pillow End Roundeldating from Joseon (Choson) Dynasty, late 19th century

Overall Diameteris approximately5 1/8 inches (13 cm)

Diameter between Outer Yellow Borderis approximately4 3/8 inches (11.2 cm)

Description:Auspicious Emblem of Peonies - In Korea, images of peonies denote honor, wealth, and an upper level social position.
Bright color shades of Magenta, Pink, Red, Blue, Green - all traditional colors for the Joseon period embroidered textiles, much like textiles and rank badges from late Qing dynasty imperial era, such as Guangxu Emperor period\'s rank badges, dragon robes, and hats for men, women and children.
Round Shape is due to being the end of a traditional rounded pillow.

Condition: This Traditional Embroidered Silk Pillow End has been removed from the previous owner from Korea long time ago. As expected - frayed edges and antique adherents that attached to the original pillow end. Please see backing images. Occasional loose threads as expected from detachment from pillow. Please see all the images and details.
