This is an authentic Xena Warrior Princess costumehandmade by the original Xena costume designer, Robyn Forster. Robyn worked for Pacific Renaissance for all the big-name shows in New Zealand, and won an Oscar for her Lord of the Rings costume work. She was thehead of the costume department on the Xena set. This costume was made byRobyn for our Xena museum in the Totara Peak Gallery (Now Big Rooster Antiques) in Omarama, New Zealand Warrior Princess was filmed in New Zealand, and Xena (Lucy Lawless) is herself a New Zealander, currently living in Auckland.
The main body piece is leather. The gauntlets and arm bands are copper. The breast plate and back shoulder plates aremoulded plastic.
It has been on display in our gallery in Omarama, NZ since it was acquired from the filming set. It has not been worn or rented out since the filming.
The item is made of a beautiful leather and is in excellent condition, with all pieces and accessories included: Breast plate, dress, boots, lace-up knee guards, wrist guards, and arm guards. All pieces are fully adjustable, but below are the outer measurements while on the mannequin as a guideline:
