Autograph of John Steven Cabot Abbott (b.Sept.19,1805, d.June 17, 1877), pastor, historian, biographer and writer; graduate of Bowdoin College and Andover Theological Seminary. For sale is a little business card from the New England Carpet Company in Boston with Abbott\'s name signed on the reverse (Mr. Abbott). The third picture (and not for sale here) is an authenticated autograph on an autograph website and the signatures look nearly identical, except for the swooping cross of the T\'s. This was on a site called History For Sale. This card was found in a recently purchased book written by Abbott, The History of the Civil War in America, published in 1863. The New England Carpet Company was mentioned in a letter Herman Melville\' wrote that is included in his biography \"Herman Melville, A Biography\" Vol 2 pg. 186. Cool keepsake.
