ALS. 3pp. 3 ¾” x 6”. 28 Sept 1858. Edinburgh. An autograph letter signed “Frederick Guthrie”to an unidentified Colonel:“On returning to town in the mdof last week I found yr letter, & I take the first opportunity I have hadof answering it. I am sorry that wouldbe out of my power to attend the meeting.I expect to be working at home without…to span in the md…& I knownot how far on in November. If I can getaway at that time I am prepared to go away to…I regret that but will hope forthe future…”. The letterhas light ink ghosting and mounting remnants, but is in fine conditionotherwise.
