(PUBLISHING) MURRAY, JOHN, IV. Autograph note signed, one page, measuring approximately 4 1/2\" x 7\", on printed letterhead of 50, Albemarle Street, W., 16 November 1912. To Mr. Streatfeild, sending thanks for his note and replying: \". . . I need hardly assure you that any momentary vexation which may have arisen has been entirely obliterated\". Mailing folds; with a small wrinkle to top margin; else very good.
Sir John Murray IV (1851-1928); English publisher to Queen Victoria. Among other works, he published Murray\'s Magazine from 1887 until 1891. The recipient of this letter may have been Richard Alexander Streatfeild (1866-1919), Samuel Butler\'s literary executor. Authenticity guaranteed.
