For sale today is a very nicely restored humpback stagecoach trunk with a beautiful restoration.I found one patent date of Nov 30, 1869 which makes this neat old humpback as much as 148 years old - a true antique.This trunk was in good solid condition when the restoration started and the wood bottom is good, has had multiple coats of clear applied and has two original slats on the bottom. The four original metal wheels are present and the trunk rolls easily. The two original hinges are HD, tight, polished, work well and the lid closes well. The lid stay is new cloth. There are 10 pieces of polished original hardware on the trunk. The center lock is original, has been polished and there is no key. The original tray has been rebuilt and the interior has been removed. The metal/tin is smooth and is in very good condition. There are five solid hardwood slats on the trunk. Two new black leather handles were installed with the original hardware.

These trunks are all antiques with most of them being well over a hundred years old. They will have dings and dents, old repairs, new repairs new replacement parts and sometimes replaced wood.
