BANTAM .60 TWIN - Vintage Collector Engine - Never Run - BEAUTIFUL and RARE:
$600.00

This Bantam 60 Twin is serial number 103 of an estimated 300 that were originally built. It has never been mounted or run.The box, papers, and engineshows someviewing and shelf wear, butno evidence of disassembly, abusive handling, being dropped, or anthing else of that sort. This is not a reproduction engine. Ben Shereshaw, early model designer and creator of the highly respected Bantam .19 ignition engine of the late 1930\'s, began development of a Bantam .60 twin in the mid 1960\'s. Ben eventually ran out of time, money, and/or interest in the engine, and the project lay dormant for several years. In 1978 Donald Sohn and Bob Bowen purchased the Bantam 60 Twin project and parts from Ben. They completed the engines and began selling them in 1980 for $450, with nearly all of them going to serious engine collectors of the time. An article about the history of the Bantam 60 Twin can be found is a collectable engine that has never been run, but I will not warrantyitin any way. For description and warranty purposes it is expressly being offered as a \"used as-is engine\". Were I to offer this engine as being \"new\" from an standpoint, a purchaser would be within his rights mount, fuel and fire it, file a claim with that it was defective in some way, and then return it for a full refund at my expense.I don\'tthink anyreasonable person would expect me tooffer such a warranty. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. I have been selling on since 1997. Ido my best to provide an accurate description and deal fairly and honestly with others.

In trying to research the value of this engine,I have not been able to fine any recent sale prices ofa Bantam 60 Twin. What I do know is that they sold new in 1980 for $450, and that only about 300 of them were made. As such I think my askingprice of $700 is reasonable. However, this engineis very much for sale, and Iwillconsider any realistic offers that are presented.
