The set is clean, bright and soldily bound. This highly collectible book set is handsomely bound in light green cloth covers with black lettering on on the cover and bright, impressed gold lettering and black decorative highlights on the cover. The gold lettering remains sharp. The exteriors of all the books are in excellent condition with no bumping, rubbing or discernible edge wear. There is some light soiling to the covers and the covers remain attractive overall. They actually look nicer "in person" than the photos of all four cover appear. The interiors are in excellent condition. The book set is free of any writing, smuding or foxing, except that there is a small, prior owner name, address, date at the top corner of one of the front, blank pages. There isn't a mark in the book otherwise and the pages are in excellent condition. The books are free of any pasteboards, stamps or other markings and the set is not an ex-library set. The binding of all four books is solid; the books have no looseness or lean and all hinges are fine. The books are extensively illustrated thoughout. Each book measures 11 1/4 inches by 8 inches by 2 inches. Printed on high-quality paper, it's a heavy book set, but you'll only pay actual postage costs. The content is filled with nicely presented articles of first-hand experiences by key leaders in the war. An excellent condition, antique book set of this extraordinary collection of first-hand experiences by key veterans of the Civil War.
