I am excited to offer a very beautiful, rarely seen example of the SILVERTONE MODEL 4669, c. 1937. Very large - think 1/2 of a console. It is a gorgeous Art Deco period design - it was meant to be a work of art as well as functional. If you\'re looking for a special decorator piece or need a great looking example for your collection - this beauty is it! We were able to retain nearly all of the original finish on this piece. The chassis was recapped and electronically repaired prior to purchase and the radio plays well on both AM and SW bands. 30-day warranty on Tubes, Capacitors, Resistors parts and labor. Please look closely at all the large size pictures for details. We can add an MP3/iPod jack to the chassis after the sale for a flat $65 fee - just ask.

CABINET: We cleaned the radio cabinet with Murphy\'s Oil Soap and then did an inspection. The finish was so beautiful on most of the radio that we did not remove it on most of the radio. As such, there are a few spot with some minor finish loss near the bottom of the cabinet. Only the top required refinishing with Mowhawk toning and finishing lacquers and blended to match the rest. Two edge chips on one back side and the bottom edge of the front were filled and blended and some small loose veneer spots were glued down on lip in front - also see two small age crinkles there close-up. The whole cabinet was then given a clear lacquer top coat for matching and protection and the result is an excellent, beautiful original looking piece.CHASSIS: An American 8-tube, three-band chassis. Rust free. Electrolytic and wax paper capacitors replaced. Tubes, resistors and wiring check and replaced of necessary and alignment done. The original EM speaker had a good coil but warped cone and was replaced with a period PM speaker with correct field resistance. (If you would like the original speaker please discuss with me after sale.) Plays well with good tuning sensitivity.PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE offerDING.
