Minutehand painted detail AbsolutelygorgeousJapanese Satsumaserving bowl, representing the elegance of the Japanese aesthetic. Featuring hand applied enamelsset off brilliantly by highly detailed gilding. Scores of vibrant flowers with hundreds of individually rendered petals, both on the interior and exterior. The scalloped rim is banded round with lovely gilding which delineates the form. Probably used as a tea sweets bowl for serving guests small cakes in the early 1900\'s.In excellentantique condition with just minorage darkeningcommensurate with age, no chips or cracks.Measures approximately 7\" across, a very useable size or eye catching display piece.Very tasteful and elegant. Dating to the late Meiji or Taisho period, and signed with the Koshida giltmark on the underside. An outstanding piece for the discriminating collector of fine Japanese ceramics.
