Description A beautifullargeEnglish antiqueGeorgian solid sterling silver vinaigrette box by the silversmith John Shaw - (1803-1825), in lovely conditionand with a full set of English silver hallmarksBirmingham 1819.Excellent quality genuine 197 year old silver example, has hinged silver lid and is decorated with fine engine-turned engraving, and has a superb protruding floral thumb-piece. Inside it is still has its original fully gilt-lined interiorand still has its original pierced and engraved hinged grill. Still has evidence of original exterior gilded finish too.

MeasurementsA good size, measures approx.1.2 inches (28mm)x1.25 inches (32mm)and is 0.5 inches (12mm) deep.

Lovely clear struck hallmark stamps and also includes the Kings head duty stamp of King George the Third.Stamped on box and lid.MakerSilversmiths initials \"I S\", (John Shaw - 1803-1825).ConditionLovely condition, no splits or cracks, no obvious solder repairs, and no nasty knocks or dents, a very nice example. The lid hinge and grill hinge both work perfectly and interior gilding is original and is virtually all still intact. Very nice size and with a stunning decorative pierced and engraved hinged grill.
