On offer is this really beautifulantique novelty solid sterlingsilverminiature chair. The piece will be Dutch in origin and bears the marks of the London based importer/sponsor, Samuel Boyce Landeck,hallmarked for the start of theEdwardian era, Chester 1902.

This fabulous little chair has a lovely Art Nouveau style pattern in embossed silver covering the entire piece and you only have to look at it to see that it is ofhigh quality. Please study the photos to see the detail of the design - beautiful.

Not only is the chair collectable in its own right as a novelty piece of silver,it isalso hallmarked for Chester. This Assay Office closed over 50 years ago in1962 – so pieces hallmarked Chester are gradually becoming harder to find.

You can imagine how expensive this sweet little chairwould have been to purchase when it was crafted in 1902. And what a wonderful, unusual giftit would be for you to give today, 115 years later!

HALLMARKS:\"S B L\" for Samuel Boyce Landeck; into three circles for Sampson Mordan & Co; the lion passantdenoting solid sterling silver; a shield with three wheatsheaves around a swordfor the Chester Assay Office; the letter “B” for the year 1902; the letter \"F\" for foreign.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS/WEIGHT: It standsat4cm in height; 2.5cm in width andweighsabout 12.4g.

CONDITION: The chair is ingoodcondition, especially considering it is 115 years old. For completeness of detail only, the back rest curves a tiny bit more on one side at the top. We believe this occurred when it was crafted, as the silver is of a good gauge,and is mentioned purely for a full description. Any darks marks, etc areeither reflections, shadowsor age related patina.
