A beautiful German Hanau 800 silver snuff / trinket box. It ishallmarked with the crescent moon and crown state symbols introduced in 1886 alongwith the 800 standard mark and the makers mark of Simon Rosenau. I would dateit to c1900. It has been beautifully madebeing in the form of a bird. It is in superb condition being freefrom dings splits holes and repairs. The hinge is strong and the lid closes tightly.It measures over 3.25 inches (8.7cms) long beak to tail by over 1.5 inches (4cms)tall and weighs 44 grams. A beautifully design very high quality piece.
