A superb Scottish sterlingsilver quaich. It is hallmarked for Edinburgh 1992 with the maker’s marks beingFH for Francis Howard. It has been simply yet beautifully made having nicely shaped handles.For those unaware these are filled with alcohol and past amongst friends atgatherings. It is in superb condition, having no dings splits or repairs -almost certainly never used. It measures over 4.75 inches (12.4cms) acrossincluding the handles and 2.75 inches (7.1cms) excluding them by over 1 inch (2.9cms)tall to the rim. It is made from good gauge silver and as such weighs 76 grams.A very beautiful usable piece.
