This is my dream Lenci! I wanted to own one little part of the amazing story of how the original Lenci dolls came about, as created by Elena Scavini and I wanted to be bowled over every time I looked at my doll....and I am! I just wish I had somewhere to display her but do not, so she has been stored away in a wardrobe and I realise that is just not right for such a beautiful example.Our girl has a mellow and beautiful aged look with her...not garish, but not too faded either...just perfect to me. There she stands with her blonde mohair ringlets in the original set - mildly dishevelled but oh so pretty! - and beautifully painted blue sideways glancing eyes with delicate eye-shadow, blushed cheeks and rosebud mouth. Fun Lenci fact -blue eyes in a Lenci are less common than those painted with brown eyes!She is a harder to find model - series 100/86, which shares the popular slightly pouty, sullen expresion of the series 300. The last one of these I saw sold for around £1200 and I have seen these rarer pretty girls sell at sale for even more than that. She is packed for travel now, but I\'m pretty certain that she measures somewhere around 19 inches tall.She wears the most amazing, abundantly feminine costume - entirely original - the ballgown type organdy dress has a long, full skirt with a short wire hooped petticoat beneath and is festooned all over with shell pink satin ribbon bows and felt flowers. She has a garland of Lenci\'s famous beautifully crafted felt roses in her hands and still wears her original lace mittens. All her underwear is original, as are her matching pink felt shoes and scalloped top socks. Her dress has the original Lenci tag which also details her model number - so often the precise model number is hard to trace.Condition is very good to excellent - she does not look brand new and too harsh, but has that soft, dreamy mellow look of the 1920\'s and 1930\'s Lenci dolls that most collectors love. Her pressed felt face is beautiful with very little or no soiling or fading. There is no significant damage to her costume that I noticed. From memory, there is just a minor pin hole or two in one shoe, a small, fairly light stain to the felt of the right forearm as photographed, and light brown staining to a section of the hem of the dress. This might well be possible to wash off, but I chose to keep her in the condition I found her in which was so charming and untouched. Please look at the photos carefully to assess condition for yourself.Shipping within the UK is £12 by courier. Worldwide shipping by Global Express including insurance for loss is a flat rate of £50. It will actually cost me more than that to send her, but I am sharing some of the costs with you to help out.
