Gorgeous fainting sofa, most likely 1880s, with beautifulEastlake foliate incising.

Beautifully upholstered in luxurious velvet, rosy-burgundywith golden-green stripes. Velvet is high-end and may be silk. It has somewear, but is still lovely and functional.

Lovely woodwork, including a high pediment with an ornateshield, curved overlaid burled walnut panels, ornate vining incising, turnedfeet, fluted molding that curves around the rounded base of the couch, andcarved base pediment. Original finish, not refinished and ruined.

Condition is excellent for approximately 130 years old.There is wear to the upholstery, but it is still beautiful and useful.Upholstery on the back has a 4” tear (which is moot unless you plan to put itin the middle of a room).

Thesofa is approximately approximately 76\" long, 41\" tall to the top of the shield, and 27\" deep.
