An EARLIER VERSION indicated by her lovely PALE BISQUE complexion, alluring ENAMEL BLUE glass eyes, and as with many early Fashions UNPIERCED EARS, this lovely lady has her original PATENTED TERRENE body from the 1870\'s which is FULLY ARTICULATED; she can be posed to create the most CHARMING of vignettes!
She wears the most EXQUISITE ENSEMBLE, possibly original to her, consisting of an antique lace trimmed PROMENADE OUTFIT made of light floral cotton with sprigs of blue flowers; we can picture her outside taking an afternoon stroll on a Spring day! The outfit has several pieces to it, including the FITTED JACKET with fashionable bell sleeves, and bottom skirt with a an overlay creating the look of padded hips and a BUSTLED BACK! Underneath she wears a Victorian white lace trimmed CHEMISE with matching HALF SLIP, and we added a more recent but hand made ecru muslin HOOP SKIRT to give her outfit the fashionable shape of the time! Her feet wear the most fabulous hand made pair of cream leather heeled boots with royal blue silk bows and matching trim, embellished with tiny buckles; they are not antique but completely hand made and beautifully detailed! On her head is adorned a fabulous antique coquettish FRENCH HAT made of a blush cream cotton fabric constructed with an upturned corner for that JAUNTY APPEAL, and embellished with a cluster of MILLINER\'S FLOWERS on one side,and an elaborate PINK SILK bow on the other! To complete her outfit she wears a hard to find tiny antique BLUE ENAMEL original Fashion doll watch, with pink hand painted rose flowers, original paper lithograph face with glass cover, and original brass chain with JUMEAU BLUE bead on the hooked end-----this little lady makes a very FANCY PRESENTATION!
She has a very unique EARLY PORTRAIT look to her features characterized by her slimmer and longer \"PATRICIAN NOSE\" and thinner face; all the makings of an ARISTOCRATIC LADY! Her patented Terrene body is FULLY ARTICULATED with a unique design including a leather over wood torso with painted metal upper arms and lower BISQUE ARMS with beautiful detail, metal upper legs that are loosely covered in leather (hence the nickname \"BAGGY PANTS\" for this model), while the lower legs are very lightweight, made of very tight and lightweight leather covered carton material! The body is articulated at the elbows, upper arms and legs as well as the knees so that the doll can hold VARIOUS POSES------perfect for displaying in a FASHION VIGNETTE! We see only minor overall age wear to the body, with either a small hairline or old repair to the bottom of the thumb one of her hands! We did not want tocompromise the integrity of her tightly fitted Fashion garments by removing herclothes, as the antique cotton fabric is very delicate and thin,but you can tell by partially exposing her upper torso and lower body what EXCELLENT CONDITION this doll is in!
