This is a delightful holiday Set from the amazing folk art studio of Bethany Lowe Designs and part of her ~Spring~ collection. It is a BRAND NEW, genuine, authorized reproduction of original art work crafted in authentic vintage style. These terrific ~Nested Egg Containers~ are crafted from pâpier maché (paper mache or paper pulp) and decorated with reproduction images from antique Easter lithographs. They would be a fabulous addition to any Folk Art collection and absolutely lovely Easter decorations. And ~ what a wonderful way to present a very special gift!

These delightful Easter Eggs are crafted in the old German style and tradition of vintage holiday candy containers, and can be filled with an endless assortment of Easter treats They are designed as Eggs which open horizontally to reveal a hollow center. You get a Set of 4 Eggs in graduated sizes which nest inside each other ~ like Russian matryoshka dolls.

These delightful decorations are done in the style and tradition of Victorian paper art. Each Egg is crafted from stiff white paper board and decorated with Easter images in wonderful pastel shades. These images are taken from actual Victorian post cards and are simply charming. The largest Egg measures 6¾-inches long and 4½-inches wide. Its image depicts a boy walking with two chickens. He carries a large pink Easter Egg on his back inscribed with,

”Easter Greetings,”

in fanciful script. Yellow daffodils spill from his basket.

The next largest Egg depicts a little ballerina walking two baby chicks on pink and blue ribbons. The ballerina is dressed in a white tutu trimmed with pink cherry blossoms. The Egg measures 6-inches long and 3½-inches wide.

The next Egg in the Set measures 5-inches long by 3¼-inches wide. It bears the image of a brown rabbit standing on a sheep’s back in order to steal a kiss over a stone wall. Charming!

The smallest Egg depicts a fluffy yellow chick perched on the edge of a straw bonnet that holds two blue Easter Eggs. Sprigs of bluebells dangle from the chick’s beak. The Egg is 4½-inches long and 2½-inches wide.

The Eggs are decorated with matching images on both sides. Each Egg opens horizontally around its middle. The opening edges are trimmed with pale yellow, scalloped paper. The insides of the Eggs are lined ivory paper decorated with a pale green vintage floral print. arge Egg sits on an oval, paper board base with pinked edges.

, painted a lovely pastel shade, and completely covered in crystalline glass glitter. The glitter gives the Eggs a sparkling, sugared texture. The effect of the crystals as they catch the light is AMAZING! The edges of the openings on each Egg are trimmed in Dresden-style, ivory paper lace.

These Eggs make terrific gift boxes and they look wonderful tucked in Easter Baskets! This Set would fit beautifully into a \"Shabby,\" \"Cottage Chic,\" \"Country Primitive,\" or \"Garden Style\" home. The Eggs look especially good in a garden setting and could easily be displayed year round as desk or dresser containers.
