This attachment may be just what you need for your vintage Singer slant shank sewing machine!The item featured in this sale is the sometimes missing presser foot for tuck marking, as I\'ve seen it described - also known as the tucker. This foot was sometimes included in the box of attachments originally sold with a machine, and sometimes sold separately as a \"fashion aid.\" According to Singer, \"Always in fashion, tucks add smartness and interest to dresses, blouses, neckwear, children\'s clothes and lingerie...The Singer tucker with its adjustable guides makes it easy to produce tucks of uniform width and spacing.\" This attachment is stamped \"SINGER\" and \"U.S.A.\" and with its part # 36583 on the bottom main section. It fits the Singer classes 401, 403, 404, 500, 503, and many others, as well as the beloved Model 301, the first slant shank machine. This version is in what\'s known as the \"blackside\" finish, which came out in WWII when chrome was reserved for military use. I usually call it \"half-blackside,\" since it\'s not entirely blackside, but I\'ve not seen anyone else do so. It is in very good used condition, ready to give many more years of use. If you are the winner of this sale, your \"new\" Singer accessory will come carefully packed in its original box, also in very nice used condition. There is light soiling on the lid, along with various dings and scuffs, and also the name \"Lydia\" in ink. The bottom has discolorations in a semi-circular pattern - I have no idea of the cause, but it seems to be limited to the paper covering since it doesn\'t show on the inside. Also included is the original Singer instruction booklet for this attachment to help you get started on new, fun projects - bright and clean, with strong folds from being stored in the box.Here\'s your chance to add a wonderful attachment to your accessories for your vintage slant shank Singer!
