The subject of this review isan interesting collectible specimen of the vintage men\'s timepiece - chronograph which was made by BREITLING Company that paid attention to the high-precisionmeasurement of infinitesimal fragments of time.
This manual wind wristwatch has anoriginal metal dial with littletraces of aging. Pay attention that there are two sub-dialsat the three and nine o\'clock positions: a 45-minute counter and a sub-second\'sdial with 60 second outer chapter. The metaldial is signed \'BREITLING\'.
Achronograph is a timepiece with both timekeeping and stopwatch functions. Chronographfunction is the built-in mechanism of a stopwatch, integrated with the basicclockwork. The watch has two push-buttonsfor controlling the chronograph functions, located at the 2 and 4 o’clockpositions. The operation \"start - stop\" is beingproduced by the button at the two o\'clock position. The operation \"zeroing or reset” is beingproduced by another button.
The winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly.
The wristwatch has an original three-piece steel case withsoldered lugs. The back case lid is stamped “FOND ACIER INOXYDABLE’ (from French \"STAINLESS STEEL BACK”) and reference number #467547.
This mechanical wristwatch has the originalqualitative movement which was very well saved, considering age of thiswatch.
Thetimepiece is in working condition, well hold time. Accuracy is very good for more than a 70-year-old mechanism.

History: Breitling wasfounded by Léon Breitling in 1884 in St Imier with the specific purpose to developchronographs and counters for scientific and industrial applications.
In1892, to face up to the unstoppable growth of his company, Léon Breitlingdecides to relocate his workshops to La-Chaux-de-Fonds, metropolis of the Swisswatch industry in those days.
LouisBreitling dies in 1914 and his son Gaston takes over the company. Later, hecontinues to make several significant developments in this area and supplyingthe first wristwatch instruments to aviators. By 1923, Breitling develops theindependent chronograph push piece. Gaston\'s son, Willy Breitling takes over controlof the company in 1932 and in 1934 Breitling adds a second push piece to thechronograph enabling either cumulative or incremental time recording giving thechronograph its current configuration. In 1936 Breitling becomes the officialsupplier to the Royal Air Force.
Breitlingintroduces the Breitling Chronomat in 1942 - the first chronograph to be fittedwith a circular slide rule. The company also widens its professional clienteleto include the American armed forces. 1954 sees the creation of the BreitlingNavitimer, a wrist instrument equipped with the famous \"navigationcomputer\". This exceptional chronograph becomes the favourite among thepilots across the globe. By that time, Breitling was already supplying themajor international airlines with cockpit clocks. In 1962, the astronaut ScottCarpenter wears the Breitling Cosmonaute chronograph during his orbital flightaboard the Aurora7 space capsule. Along with Buren and Heuer-Leonidas, Breitling invents theself-winding chronograph in 1969. This technical feat represents a majorbreakthrough for the entire Swiss watch industry. Will Breitling dies in 1979.The company was subsequently bought by Ernest Schneider.
