Babe Ruth Signed Baseball **the Grandaddy Of 'em All** For Sale
Babe Ruth Signed Baseball**The Grandaddy of 'EM All**This is easily the most remarkable and interesting piece in our collection. An extremely rare signed baseball by the legendary home-run king - Babe Ruth.THE STORY:This ball was given to me when I was ten years old by a (since deceased) man named Bob, who was born and raised in New York City in the early 1920's. Bob was impressed with my affinity for sports memorabilia and told me he owned a Babe Ruth signed baseball. As a young boy, Bob caught a foul ball while at a Yankees game. Ruth was in attendance and was at that time retired from the game of baseball. Bob went up to Babe Ruth and said, "Will you sign my ball?" to which Babe responded, "Sure kid."Clearly Bob had a desire to maximize the value of the baseball in the long term, because right after getting the ball signed he went and played with it in the streets of New York! The signature had faded, but was still visible, and Bob wrote a quick note on the opposite side of the ball which read, "This did say Babe Ruth...etc..." (which has too since faded.)Fast forward Fifty years and Bob, who never had children, offered to give me the ball - which I happily accepted! Bob wrote a letter detailing the origins of the ball, but I have also misplaced that letter. So, here you go. An opportunity to get your hands on a Babe Ruth signed baseball. offer with confidence.
